10 Pan Project Update

First product that I finished.... Maybelline Lipbalm w/ Lemon fragrance. I bought this when I visited China 3 yrs ago, and I doubt that you could find it in the US. It's really moisturizing, and it smells really yummy (I'm very into citrusy stuff). I finally finished it...... I even took out the last bit w/ a cotton swab. =)

My plan is to work mainly on foundation and lipglosses, since I use them almost on a daily basis. Also, I'm going to work on products that I have already hit pan. After digging through all my belongings, I have picked out some potential stuff that I could finish up soon.

Bath & Body Works Pink Grapefruit body cream (bought this ~3yrs ago as well......) I'm very guilty of not finishing up this once beloved lotion.

Everyday Minerals Start to Finish Kaolin Powder in Sunlight (bought this ~ 1yr ago). I really like this powder, and I'm always really tempted to order few backups. Must refrain from temptations!!!

Physician's Formula Talc-Free Mineral Blush in Blushing Glow (bought this ~2yr ago). My HG blush, period. But since I've already hit pan, it'll probably be a lot easier to use it up, right?

Maybelline Pure Makeup Liquid Foundation (bought this ~1.5 yr ago). Medium 3 is a bit too dark for me, and I've been mixing this w/ a lighter shade to match my skin. I only use a tiny tiny dot everytime, so it's gonna take a while.....

Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush Lipgloss in Bubble It Up (?) (Bought ~3yrs ago). The shade name is already worn away...... Love this lipgloss. Nice color, yummy fragrance, and very long lasting. They even added sucrose for the sweet flavor. (althought I wouldn't recommend anyone to really taste your lip product. )

Maybelline Mineral Power Liquid Foundation. (bought ~1.5 yrs ago). Light 4 is too light for me..... Although you won't be able to see, I think I'm mostly done w/ this tiny bottle.

Rimmel Fix & Perfect Foundation Primer (bought <1 yr ago). I don't really like this primer, and I probably won't be buying it again, but it works all right as a primer. So I shall squeeze out the last drop out my money's worth.

What do you think? Quite feasible, right? I think it'll also help since I won't bring all my makeup with me, just stuff that I will use very frequently. I'll have to tell my mom to take very good care of my makeup products. I miss them already..... =/

Last Haul for a While (Picture Heavy)

So as I mentioned, I went to Ontario Mills Mall yesterday (Ontario as in the one in Orange County, CA =P). There is a Lancome outlet store, which I rarely walks into. However, I always go to the CCO inside of the Off 5th. They always have a lot of great stuff. There are some mineralized eyeshadows, Dame Edna highlighting powder, blushes from Color Forms collection, and some more limited edition stuff. I was only attracted to the pigments, since I didn't have any. They were 13.75 each, and I got two.

The first one is called Blonde's Gold. When I opened the jar on the way home, my heart just skipped a beat......

The pigment only filled 60% of the jar...... I was so heart broken!!! Anyways... it looks quite dark in the jar, but it's a gorgeous pale gold/peach color. Potential use: browbone highlight, inner corner highlight, all over lid color, as well as cheek highlighter color. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!!! Hate that I only have so little left!!!

The other one is Cocomotion, it was about 98% full, which made me feel (just a little bit) better. Seems like a quite popular color, and I've always wanted to get my hands on it. Cute name as well. It's like a dirty gold color. Potential uses: all over lid color and all over face bronzer (by adding a little bit to liquid foundation).

Here are some swatches...

w/ flash. Top = Blonde's Gold. Bottom= Cocomotion

w/o flash

Went to Nordstrom Rack and spotted this nail polish. It's Pedal to Metal by Savina, never heard of this brand personally. I'm very into neutral but shiny colors lately. haha.... It's a very pale pink color w/ shimmery/metallic finish. Again, looks quite dark in the bottle, but it's not pigmented at all.

Quick swatch on my nails

I also grabbed a pair of high heels. Probably my first pair in many years. They are by Soft (again, never heard of this brand). $39.99. Not too bad.

They are definitely not the most stylish high heels out there, but they are sooooooooo comfy. So comfy that you are not even aware that you are wearing high heels. Some of you might know that I'm always concerned that I'll appear as a giant in high heels. But my mom told me that I don't look too tall, so I must get them~~~

While I was standing in line, I saw this jewelry hanger/display. There were several different colors, but I liked this copper-ish one the most. I have so many earrings and they are just all tangled in a little drawer. So I just wanted something that makes organization easier, and I would wear them more often. This was $12.99. The downside: you can only hang earrings w/ hooks. Most of my hooked earrings are quite long, thus they don't really fit into the space provided. But it does look quite nice.... I don't know, a keeper or not?

Then I went to another shoe store, there were hardly anything worthy of trying on. My mom was looking for a pair of comfy shoes for my grandma. She too, couldn't find anything. So I was wandering around the discount racks, desperately trying to find something. And I saw this pair of short boot heels by Steve Madden.

I actually saw these at my local TJ Maxx, but they were not my size and also missing the shoelace. As soon as I saw these, I snatched them immediately. Guess what? They were in my size, there are shoelaces, and best of all...... they are only......

$8.99 after the discount!!!!!!!

I was furious!!! I was hugging them in my arms the rest of the time until we went to the register to pay. LOL.

I think that's about all I got.... Oh, I actually bought my mom a pair of Coach sunglasses. Her eyes are really sensitive and strain a lot when she's wearing sucky sunglasses. I shall steal it away and take some pictures later when she comes home. hehe.....

My mom had ran out of her Aveeno Ultra-Calming Foaming Cleanser, which was won Allure's best of beauty award before. She loved that cleanser. I made a special trip to Walmart just to get that cleanser, but they ran out of stock!!!! Curious to find a replacement for her, I saw this new Olay Regenerist facial cleanser. It also has that pump that produces foam. $8.99

I tried it once, and it's so fun to play with. You shake the can, them press on the pump. What comes out is not just foam, but it's mousse. It feels so wonderful and soft on the skin. I think it cleans a little better than the Aveeno one. My mom's verdict so far is that it's not as "good" as Aveeno.... in what ways? I'll have to ask her later.

Last, but not least, I'll leave you a picture of my FOTD. I got this blue dress yesterday also, from Papaya. Imma in love w/ one piece dresses.

Phew.... that was a long post. Thank you for reading~~~~~ I'll talk to you guys next time~~~

well, you do have a really weird style. like you aim to be a fashionista, but you pull looks off of racks that are in dollar stores, lol. That's just not gonna work! I know I know, you think I'm a hater, and you disagree that you have to spend a fortune to look fashionable. well, that is what name brands can give you, a look that is special and not easily attainable by the mass population. If you try to do the same with cheapies, that's just going to make you look like a cheapie, and weird, and hence the stares.

I agree, I don't think they're staring at you bc you're pretty, bc you are not. You're very average looking for asians, you're not ugly, but not pretty enough to have ppl look your way because of it. It also depends if the ppl staring at you are asians or non-asians. you know how the non-asians find the whole tan-skin, slanty eyes and big jaw bones, etc. attractive on asains. You share those features, but as an asian you should know those are not the desirables in asians. I really don't know why I went on a ramble, I guess it's better to hear the truth, then fake sweet nonesenses that so many likes to give. It's also mean of them to not tell you you look bad when you do, and give you these false hopes or expectations of yourself."

Wow.... Thank you for the truth, over generalization, and...... over analyzation? I never thought about it from that perspective.......

I could well afford any high-end makeup products, but I don't like buying them because 1) You were completely right, I DO believe you can achieve nice end result with low-end products. 2) It's my hard earned money. I have far more important purposes for it. 3) My heart would ache if I slather on a $50 product on my face while millions of starving children in third world countries can easily survive a few more weeks w/ that money.

Sometimes I truly truly admire people who are extremely opinionated and outspoken because I could never be like that. What can I say...... ignorance is bliss.

Broke My Promise...... Again

So today I went to Ontario Mills Mall. Anyone went there too? Maybe I saw you there. =)

Long story short. I bought makeup again...... but not a lot. I also bought few pairs of shoes. I promise this is the last haul before I complete my 10 Pan Project. I'll turn into a duck if I don't meet my promise. (why duck, I donnu... haha....) I'm too tired to take pictures and upload them. I'll update tomorrow.

I'm very curious about why everytime I go out, there are always people who look at me when they walk by. It's not like "Look, she's so pretty." or "Her dress/pants/shoes are so pretty." It's a really weird stare, like my mug shot was aired on national TV as the Most Wanted by FBI or something. hahaha... Maybe I'm just thinking too much. Anyways...... My face is almost symmetric now!!!!! And due to unable to masticate and ingest food, my face has become skinnier!!!!!! YAY for unintended diet!!!!

When I was a Makeup Beginner

I reminisces the days when I only had 1 brush, 1 foundation powder, and 1 blush. Everything was so simple. But of course, the final result wasn't as memorable. Since I use the same brush for foundation and blush and I don't clean it very often, it's almost like putting blush all over my face. Everytime when I check my makeup in the mirror, I look all right. However, when I do naturally blush, my entire face becomes a glowying orange. Also, once I walk out of my house, I rarely check or do touch-ups on my makeup. So I didn't even know until my classmate asked me, "Jessie, why is your face so red???" I was so embarrassed, and I just quickly told him "Because it's hot in the classroom."

Another embarrassing moment arises when I'm too lazy to double check my makeup before I leave the house. One time, I went to work, and I was just minding my own business. Then one co-worker walks by, and he said "Jessie, you have an eyelash on your cheek." He was pointing on his face to direct me where to find the lash on my face. But it gave me such a hard time that I just realized it was a bristle that had fallen from my sucky brushes. Ugh..... It would otherwise be a very romantic scene if a guy helps to clear off the lash from my cheek. But nope, it's not even a real lash...... and I really have no intention toward my co-worker.... So end of the case.

Have you ever had any embarrasing moments because of makeup? I would love to hear about them. =)

July Fav

Yesterday, I went to Target to shop stuff for Diamond. I ask one of the staff, "Where can I find pet related stuff?" Of course, w/ my painful jaw, I couldn't really enunciate.

She was like "You mean like lady 'pads'?"

"No, PETS."

"Pads?"

"PETS!"

(Long pause, she's processing.... )

"Like cats and dogs?"

"Oh, if you keep on walking straight......."

Since I can't really speak w/o laughing at how ridiculously I sound, here is my July Fav blog.

First product is Loreal Original Voluminous Mascara. The wand is big and has long traditional bristles. It gives my lashes a lot of volume and length, w/o being too clumpy. The formula is creamy and rich. I've never tried a mascara that feels so smooth on my lashes. Of course there's always a price tag that goes along w/ long and voluminous lashes, which is you do feel the weight on your lashes. (The polar opposite would be Maybelline Full & Soft) That's probably the only thing I'm not too fond of. But otherwise, a great mascara. Definitely great for everyday, and even greater for special occasions.

Second product is also a mascara that I've been wanting to try for a long time. It's NYX Doll Eyes Long Lash mascara. Heard a lot of good reviews about it. The wand is not very big, and it has a hour glass shape. The bristles are short and sterdy. The formula is more of a cream or paste texture. It doesn't give too much volume, but it really defines and separates my lashes. Excellent for that everday natural look (when people think that they are your natural lashes and compliment on how long they look. ) Try it as a lower lash mascara, you'll totally appreciate the thin wand and understand why it's called the "Doll Eyes" mascara.

This is the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hr Cream Skin Protectant. I use this mainly on my lips. It's very similar to Eucerin Aquaphor Healing Ointment, except it has an orangy color and has that pine-y fragrance. My lips are really chapped these days, and this ointment has really helped to sooth my lips and make them look soft and supple. I've been reaching for it constantly. Although I do love it, I'm not sure if I would spend $17 on it if I ever run out. In that case, I might probably still stick to Eucerin.

Next is a nail polish. It's by Sinful Colors in Flirting Nails. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this color!!!!! It looks very sophisticated on my nails (my picture doesn't do a justice). It's a champagne/beigy color w/ some pink undertone. What I love about it even more is that it has that very flattering sheen. I don't have pretty nails, but this nail polish really make my nails look pretty decent. The color is so earthy, and I love how it blends in w/ my olive skintone w/o making it look too yellow. The best part is that it only costs $1.99 at Walgreens. Great for a polished and professional look, staying low-key, and conserving your wallet.

Fav eyeshadow of the month is NYX Single Eyeshadow in Salmon. I haven't really used this much since I bought it. But it's a twist between gold and apricot color. So gorgeous as a wash of color all over the lid. The texture is velvety soft like most NYX shadows. I love these neutral eyeshadows that I could just splatter all over my lid when I'm on the go.

Last, but not least is the H2O Milk Silkening Hair Mask. I can't say for sure that it has helped to improve my hair. But everytime I use it, I feel like my hair becomes a little bit more manageable and smooth. It also feels like my hair became a bit stronger after I used it. Not a must have, but pretty nice to have around. Got this at my local TJ Maxx.

So that's it, a very short post because I haven't really been buying that many new products lately. I'm officially announcing that I'm entering the 10 Pan Project. It's time for me to finish on some of the old products I've been ignoring and save money for more important stuff..... such as my tuition and misc. expenses...... All right, I'll update later on which products I'll tackle first. But for now, I'm gonna fix myself some lunch. See ya later~~~~

My Painful Weekend

Paint is like the most archaic editting program, but here's a cool way to play it up.

1) Pick a picture where you are facing front.
2) Select half side of you face.
3) Copy and Paste the selection.
4) Go to Image and select Flip/Rotate. Hit enter.
5) Try to move the half side of the face so that it merges w/ the other half side of the face.

Now repeat the steps for the other half of the face...... Which face do you like better? How symmetric is your face????

So here is how I look if I had angular face....... (Proceed w/ caution!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I warned ya....... Don't I look hideous??!??!?!? Except.... this is really how I look this weekend.... and not even that symmetric.

So I got a wisdom tooth extraction this weekend. And one side of my jaws is extremely swollen right now. I look almost like I'm eating a marshmallow on one side. Sigh..... I can mumble, but I can't really talk. (Hence, no yt video for next week). I've been eating porridge for every single meal...... =( I can't wait till I can devour loads of junk food............ *CRUNCH CRUNCH* I've been taking antibiotics and pain meds. But I get hives on my face when I take pain meds...... which makes me feel even worse. I hate dentists!!!!!

So from certain angle, I look alright.

But that's because I applied a ton of bronzer to contour...... See the difference?

No contour

A lot of contour

My droopy cheek =[

*POKE* OUCH!!!!

I was really bored, so I just decided to put on some makeup. Here is my eye makeup of the day.

Argh...... I shall wait patiently and gracefully for my swollen cheek to subside....
